On April 22nd, 2020, ABC affiliate Channel 23 in Bakersfield California (Kern County) broadcasted a portion of press conference held by Accelerated Urgent Care owners Dr. Dan Erickson and Dr. Artin Massihi who recommended lifting shelter-in-place orders and explained in detail why they arrived at such a conclusion. Kern County Public Health Services was later questioned about the presentation made by these doctors. The health department's response arguably did little to rebut the COVID-19 facts the doctors presented and basically stated it intended to stick with its existing message and recommended protocols.
